Provence Reservation Discovery of the Roman and Medieval heritage in Nîmes, Pont du Gard, Uzès and the Alpilles hill range area.

Stop in Saint-Rémy de Provence, the native town of Nostradamus. Admire Les Baux de Provence, medieval village labelled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". This immense and superb stone fortress is without doubt one of the "must-sees" on the Provencal tourist trail ! Attend the light and sound show dedicated to Salvador Dali in Les Carrières de Lumières (entrance included). Lunch on your own. Visit of NIMES : great city of the arts, proud of its prestigious Roman past, see the antique buildings : the amphitheatre (entrance included) and the « Maison Carrée » (or Square House, one of the best preserved temples in the Roman world). UZES, wonderful medieval town and the first Duchy of France, set in the garrigues countryside (mediterranean vegetation). A ducal seat, a bishopric and consular seat, Uzès has preserved its lay-out as a medieval stronghold, embellished in the 17th and 18 th centuries. See the Place aux Herbes (picturesque square), the episcopal palace, the ducal palace, the Fenestrelle tower (a unique bell-tower) and the Cathedral. Outside of Uzès is the catchment area of the Roman aqueduct (Pont du Gard) that brought spring water to Nîmes. PONT DU GARD : dated from the first century and classified by UNESCO, it's the most amazing and well preserved part of the Roman acqueduct which supplied water to Nîmes. Careful : Kindly note that some events take place during the year inside the arenas of Nimes. In that case the visit of the arenas will be replaced by the visit of the Maison Carrée (Roman temple) and there will be only a photo stop in front of the arenas.
